Terms of Service

Version of 26 October 2026 (change of name and addresses; the conditions do not change). Previous version: 22 October 2026, for version 1.1.0 of the apps. For anyone who starts using the service from 22 October 2026, it applies from that day; for anyone who already had an account or a former plan, the relevant changes take effect as set out in point 13.

These terms are the agreement between you and Starthrop Dynamics, Unipessoal Lda when you use Package Tracker, a product of Starthrop Dynamics, with or without an account.

They are written to be read. If anything here is unclear, write to support@starthrop.com and we will explain it.

2. What the service does, and what it does not

Package Tracker brings the tracking of parcels carried by different carriers into one place. You paste the tracking number and follow the delivery on your phone or in your browser. We query directly the carriers that have an official interface for it; when there is no automatic source for a parcel, the app says so, instead of making up a status.

You can also store your address in your account, at no cost, and keep the history of earlier versions.

We are not a carrier and we carry nothing. We do not sell, ship, deliver or hold parcels. We show the information carriers publish about each shipment — if that information is wrong, late or missing, the service shows what exists and nothing more.

Complaints about the delivery itself — delay, loss, damage — are settled with the carrier or with the shop you bought from. We cannot change a parcel's route.

3. Your account

You can use the service without an account: your parcels are linked to your device and, if you clear the app’s data, you can no longer access them — they are not deleted from the server for that reason. With a free, optional account, your history is kept, you can recover it and it follows you to other devices. The account is personal.

Support will never ask you for your password, a recovery code, your card details or an identity document.

4. Free, and the former plans

Package Tracker is free and has no ads: tracking, using it without an account, creating an account and storing your address cost nothing. We do not sell plans. Up to version 1.1.0 we sold these two, which are no longer sold:

Former planPriceNew parcels per cycle
Basic€3.99 per monthup to 10
Plus€5.99 per monthup to 20

With the free service, the limits in the table no longer apply: anyone with a former plan follows parcels like everyone else. A parcel already being tracked keeps being tracked until it arrives.

Fair use. To protect the free sources from abuse, there are technical limits — which are never paid for and can never be bought. Today they are: those using the service without an account can add up to 100 new parcels in every 30 days, and each connection origin can create up to 20 visitor accounts per hour; no limit on new parcels is set for the free account. If needed to protect the sources, we may set or adjust a limit. When a limit is reached, the app says so clearly — for those without an account, a free account lifts it — and nothing you already have is deleted.

5. Voluntary contributions, prices and where you pay

You may, if you wish, contribute to Package Tracker. A contribution is a voluntary payment to Starthrop Dynamics, a company, to support the service’s development: it is not a donation to a non-profit organisation, it is not deductible as one, it unlocks nothing, gives no advantage, is not a subscription and does not change what the service does. In the stores, the amounts are those the store shows at the time; on the Web (when available), you choose the amount, between €1 and €100. The amount you see is what you pay, with nothing added at the end; taxes, where they apply, are included.

Depending on where you contribute — or where you bought a former plan — the party that charges you and issues your receipt may not be Starthrop Dynamics:

Where you buyWho charges youWhere you manage and cancel
App Store (Apple)AppleContributions: one-off payment, nothing to manage. Former subscriptions: Apple account settings, under “Subscriptions”
Google PlayGoogleContributions: one-off payment, nothing to manage. Former subscriptions: Google Play, under “Payments and subscriptions”
On the web, by card (when available)Starthrop Dynamics, as merchant of record; Stripe processes the paymentContributions: one-off payment, nothing to manage. Former subscriptions: customer portal, from your account

In every case the service is provided by Starthrop Dynamics and you can write to us. But a refund request follows whoever charged you, because that is who holds the payment.

6. Former plans: renewal and cancellation

Former plans were monthly and renewed automatically. They were withdrawn from sale in every store on 21 October 2026, and we will not reopen their sale or their renewal. The period you have already paid for is honoured to the end, without losing anything — and, as the service is now free, you keep everything after that. There is no automatic refund of the current period. If the store where you bought still shows renewal as on, you can turn it off there at any time.

You can cancel whenever you want, where you bought (see the table above). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for: you lose nothing you paid, and we do not charge you again.

Cancelling a plan does not delete your account. They are separate things, and an account without a plan still exists, with its address and history.

If a payment for a former subscription fails, the service stays the same: it is free for everyone.

7. Right of withdrawal (14 days)

If you bought a former plan as a consumer in the European Union, you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract, without giving a reason and without penalty, counted from the date of purchase.

The exception the law provides, said plainly: a former Package Tracker plan is a digital service that starts being supplied as soon as it is bought. If you asked for it to start immediately and acknowledged that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been supplied in full, that right ends at that moment. Until the service has been supplied in full, you may withdraw and pay only for the part already supplied.

How to exercise it: an unambiguous statement is enough. Write to support@starthrop.com with your account email address and the date of purchase. No form and no justification are needed.

Who refunds you: whoever charged you. If you bought or contributed on the App Store or Google Play, the refund is requested from and processed by those stores under their own rules. On the web, the refund is processed by Stripe. A contribution is a one-off voluntary payment that gives access to nothing; if you made one by mistake, ask whoever charged you for a refund or write to us. Either way you can write to us and we will follow the request with you.

8. Acceptable use

We ask for little, and what we ask is what protects the service for everyone:

If an account is used that way, we may suspend or close it. Where we do so on our own initiative and through no fault of yours, and you have a paid former plan, we refund the part of the period you had paid for and did not use.

9. App license and intellectual property

The Package Tracker app is licensed to you by Starthrop Dynamics, Unipessoal Lda. These terms are between you and Starthrop Dynamics only: the carriers and our other tracking data providers are not parties to them.

You may not modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or sublicense the app.

Starthrop Dynamics retains the intellectual property in the app. What you receive is a limited right to access and use it, under this agreement.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise permanent availability: there is maintenance, there are faults, and there are failures at third parties we depend on, carriers included.

We may change features over time. If a change significantly reduces what you already paid for in a former plan, we will email you at least 30 days in advance and you may cancel without any penalty.

11. Liability

We are liable for damage we cause under Portuguese law. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer, nor our liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or for personal injury.

We are not liable for what we do not control: how carriers behave, what is inside a parcel, the tracking information carriers publish — or the lack of an automatic source for a parcel —, or indirect loss such as lost profit or lost opportunity.

12. Personal data

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. It sets out the purposes, the retention periods and how to exercise your rights.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to account holders or to those with a former plan, we will email you at least 30 days in advance, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

The date in force is at the top of this page. The version that applies to you is the one published on the day you started using the service or bought a plan, until a new one takes effect under the paragraph above.

14. Governing law and disputes

Portuguese law applies. If you are a consumer, you may always go to the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of the law of your country of residence.

Before going to court, write to us at support@starthrop.com: most questions are settled that way, and we answer all of them.

In Portugal you may also turn to an alternative consumer dispute resolution body — the consumer arbitration centre for your area — and file a complaint in the electronic Complaints Book at livroreclamacoes.pt.
