Terms of use

Combinado · version 1.0 · effective 2026-10-28

1. Who we are

These terms are the agreement between you and Starthrop Dynamics, Unipessoal Lda. (company no. 519488261, registered office: Rua da Sociedade, n.º 4, 2695-567 São João da Talha, Portugal) when you use Combinado, with or without an account.

They are written to be read. If anything is unclear, write to support@starthrop.com and we will explain.

2. What Combinado does, and what it doesn’t

Combinado is a record of your work: what you agreed, where, when, for how much, what you have been paid and who still owes you.

It is not invoicing or accounting software. It doesn’t issue receipts or invoices, it doesn’t replace your tax return, and it doesn’t collect or move money. Agreements are between you and the people you work for: Combinado is not a party to them and doesn’t guarantee that you get paid.

The figures in Summary are what you recorded. They are not profit, taxable income, or tax or financial advice.

3. Without an account and with one

You can use Combinado without an account. In that case your data stays only on your phone and never reaches our servers: if you lose the phone without a backup or an export, we can’t recover it.

The account is optional and is there to sync and recover your data. You are responsible for access to the email address, or the Google or Apple account, you sign in with, and for telling us if you suspect misuse.

Combinado is meant for adults who keep a record of their own work.

4. Trial period and subscription

You start without paying and without a card, with full access for 15 days from the first job you start or mark as done (at the latest 30 days after you schedule your first one). This period is given by the app itself: it is not a store purchase and doesn’t turn into a paid subscription on its own.

After that, to keep adding new jobs, there is a monthly subscription. The price is the one the store shows you before you confirm the purchase (currently €1.99 a month in Portugal), taxes included.

What you have already recorded is always yours: you can view it, record payments and export it, with or without a subscription.

5. Payment, renewal and cancellation

The subscription is bought and paid for on the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), under the terms that store shows you. We never receive or store your payment details.

It renews automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the store’s subscription settings; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and it doesn’t renew again.

If the price changes, the store will tell you in advance, under its own rules, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

6. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer, the law gives you a right of withdrawal from distance contracts: as a rule, 14 days from the purchase, without giving a reason (Portuguese Decree-Law 24/2014). When that right applies, or stops applying, is set by the law and by the terms the store shows you at the time of purchase.

Because the subscription is bought and charged by the store, you make the request and receive the refund through the store: on the App Store, in your Apple account’s purchase history or by the means set out in Apple’s terms; on Google Play, in your order history or through Google Play Help.

If you run into difficulty, write to support@starthrop.com: we will help you with the request and, where it is up to us, resolve it directly. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights.

7. What you record, and your clients’ data

What you write in Combinado is yours, and you decide what to record. Record only what you need for your work, and don’t write health data or other sensitive data.

The contact details of the people you work for are yours too: you use them for your work, in line with data protection law. We don’t use them for anything else and never contact them.

How we handle data is set out in the privacy policy.

8. Acceptable use

We ask for little, and what we ask protects the service for everyone:

don’t use Combinado for unlawful purposes; don’t try to access other people’s accounts or interfere with the security or availability of the service; don’t create accounts in bulk or automate access; don’t resell the service or offer it as your own.

If an account is used this way, we may suspend or close it, telling you why and letting you export what you recorded, unless the law or other people’s safety prevents it. The data on your phone remains yours.

9. App licence and intellectual property

Starthrop Dynamics grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, to record and organise your own work, including your professional activity. You may not resell, rent, sublicense or make the app or the service available to others as if it were your own.

You may not modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the app, except to the extent that applicable law permits it despite this restriction, or that the licences of open-source components included in the app permit it for those components.

If you installed the app from the App Store, your licence to use the app is Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, between you and Starthrop Dynamics. These terms don’t create a different licence: they govern the Combinado service (account, sync, subscription and support) and complement the EULA. Where the EULA excludes or limits warranties or liability, those exclusions apply only to the extent the law permits; for consumers, the mandatory rights under the law and section 11 apply.

Apple and Google are not parties to these terms. Starthrop Dynamics retains the intellectual property in the app and in the Combinado name and brand.

10. Conformity, availability and changes to the service

Combinado must match what this agreement and the app description promise. If it doesn’t, you have the rights the law gives you for digital content and services: to have it brought into conformity, a price reduction, or termination of the contract with a refund, under Portuguese Decree-Law 84/2021.

We work to keep the service available, but there is maintenance, there are outages and there are failures of third parties. Without an account, the app works offline.

We may change Combinado beyond what is needed to keep it in conformity when there is a valid reason: improving the product, adapting it to new operating-system and store versions, complying with the law or protecting security. Such a change costs you nothing extra, and we tell you about it clearly and comprehensibly.

If a change has a negative impact, other than a minor one, on your access to or use of Combinado, we will tell you reasonably in advance, on a durable medium, what the change is, when it happens and what your rights are. Where these conditions are met, you can terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days of receiving the notice or of the change, whichever is later, and you are refunded the part already paid for the period you won’t use. There is no right to terminate if we let you keep the service without the change, at no extra cost and in conformity. You can also cancel the renewal in the store at any time.

A refund we owe is made without undue delay, within the legal deadline, through the purchase channel and at no cost to you: on Google Play, we make it ourselves through the store; on the App Store, refunds are processed by Apple, so we tell you how to request it and follow the request, and if Apple doesn’t return the amount, the obligation remains ours and we refund you directly.

11. Liability

We are liable for damage we cause and for performing our obligations under Portuguese law, including where we use suppliers to perform them (hosting, email delivery, stores): choosing and overseeing them is our responsibility. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for intent or gross negligence, death or personal injury.

We are not liable for what doesn’t depend on us: the agreements between you and your clients and the payments between you; services you use directly under other people’s terms, such as the maps you open from the app, your store account or your phone’s backup; or the loss of data kept only on the phone, without an account or a backup, that isn’t caused by a failure on our part.

To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of profit or opportunity, unless caused by our intent or gross negligence.

12. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Combinado whenever you like. With an account, you delete the account and cloud data in the app, under Settings › “Delete account and cloud data”, or at starthrop.com/en/combinado/delete-account/. Deleting the account doesn’t cancel the subscription: cancel it in the store as well.

If we decide to shut Combinado down, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, let you export everything, and refund the part already paid for the period you won’t use, through the purchase channel, as set out in section 10.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the service, the law or the stores. If a change matters to people with an account or a subscription, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance. Before it takes effect, you can cancel the renewal in the store at no cost or, where the law gives you that right (for example, in the case described in section 10), terminate the contract with any refund due. A change that is unfavourable to you doesn’t apply to a subscription period you have already paid for, and nothing in this section takes away your statutory rights.

The current version and effective date are at the top of this page. Ask by email if you need a previous version.

14. Governing law and disputes

Portuguese law applies. If you are a consumer, you can always go to the courts where you live and you keep the protection of the law of the country where you live.

Before going to court, write to support@starthrop.com: most issues are solved that way, and we answer every message.

In Portugal, you can also use an alternative consumer dispute resolution body — the consumer arbitration centre for your area — and file a complaint in the electronic Complaints Book at livroreclamacoes.pt.
